Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Berkeley seeks a Clinical Unit Leader to coordinate patient care on a designated unit, collaborating with the Clinical Manager to optimize clinical practice and patient experience.

You will guide staff, ensure safety standards, mentor team members, and participate in quality improvement and interprofessional collaboration to deliver high‑quality care and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
• 2 years nursing experience as a Registered Nurse with 1 year minimum clinical experience in the acuity level of desired area (preferred for BSMH, required for RSFH locations)
• CBRN certifications or unit-specific certifications may be preferred (as listed per unit)

Responsibilities

• Adjusts the schedule and patient assignments to accommodate changes in acuity, patient population, resources & care design.
• Provides guidance of staff and oversees unit in the absence of the unit leader.
• Rounds on patients to evaluate safety, quality, and patient experience.
• Acts as a resource to staff, patients, and family to ensure effective communication.
• Serves as a clinical resource and role model for staff; may serve as a preceptor.
• Participates in ongoing quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.
• Facilitates patient placement, admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Mentors nursing and support staff and fosters teamwork and open communication.
