Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) – Clinical Supervisor for the Weekend shift. The role ensures safe, high-quality care, optimizes staffing and patient flow, and mentors staff to lead change.

You will collaborate with the Staffing Office, physicians, and administration to meet productivity and service standards, uphold Mercy Service Standards, and support continuous improvement across the care continuum.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure in Missouri.
• 3-5 years of hospital nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification either held or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Weekend full-time availability and ability to supervise multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Assure delivery of safe, high-quality, cost-effective care.
• Staffing coordination to ensure units are appropriately staffed.
• Improve patient flow and bed management in collaboration with Staffing Office.
• Lead and mentor staff to promote change and adherence to standards.

The Clinical Supervisor assures delivery of safe, high-quality and cost-effective care provided by competent co-workers. They ensure efficient utilization of available resources to meet productivity and financial goals. Clinical Supervisor works collaboratively and effectively with other administrative personnel, physicians and co-workers to communicate and improve processes across the continuum. Clinical Supervisor ensures units are appropriately staffed to provide patient care. Clinical Supervisor is proactively involved in patient flow and bed management issues in collaboration with the Staffing Office. They are leaders who inspire a shared vision, demonstrating the value of change and presenting it to co-workers with enthusiasm. Clinical Supervisor models the way by displaying professional standards, a positive attitude, and engaging co-workers to become leaders of change. They challenge current process and enable others to promote change by providing support, mentorship, and guidance to those who provide direct patient care. Clinical Supervisor encourages the heart of co-workers by providing both public and private recognition and connecting on a personal level with those they serve through servant leadership. Clinical Supervisor holds direct and indirect care providers accountable for their professional responsibilities and adherence to policy and regulatory guidelines. Clinical Supervisor is involved in the evaluation process in collaboration with the Clinical Manager as directed.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Supervisor-RN-Weekend

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule:Full-Time | 40 hours/week

Shift:Day Shift

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: 3-5 years of hospital nursing experience

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred
• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience:Prior management experience - experience within change management

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs. regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
