Unit Overview

Allegheny General’s 12A Unit is a 24-bed telemetry unit caring for patients post cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery. AGH is a Level I Shock Trauma Center with 5 state-of-the-art ICUs, a Cancer Center, and over 550 beds.

Role Overview

The RN Clinical Supervisor directs and provides professional nursing care, overseeing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while coordinating clinical and operational aspects of the unit.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and collect data related to quality and satisfaction measures.
• Serve as a clinical expert and role model, mentoring staff performance.
• Demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills.
• Utilize the nursing process to coordinate patient care for the appropriate age group.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels for optimal operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or relevant experience/education.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance
• CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• Current PA RN license or multi-state licensure via eNLC.

Preferred

• BSN
• 3+ years’ experience in a clinical specialty
• Previous supervisory experience
• Certification in area of specialty
