Job summary

Detroit Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nursing Educator to lead, develop, and coordinate educational programs across nursing units. The role supports orientation, continuing education, and clinical policy development within Tenet Healthcare’s standards.

The educator provides guidance to preceptors, mentors nurse residents, and collaborates with facility leadership to improve patient outcomes and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing/education preferred; related specialty considered.
• Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing license and applicable certifications required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports educational needs for assigned units, including classroom and clinical experiences.
• Implements comprehensive education programs aligned with Tenet goals and nursing standards.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to preceptors and nursing staff.
• Develops clinical policies and procedures as requested and participates in quality initiatives.
• Engages in continuing education activities and resident mentoring.
• Partners with nursing leadership to evaluate and revise education programs.
