Inova Health seeks an RN Clinical Educator to support the Critical Care and Progressive Care teams. This full-time role involves systemwide oversight across multiple Inova campuses, focusing on education, clinical advancement and patient safety.

The position requires a Master’s degree or active enrollment in a Master’s program, along with NIH/VA licensure eligibility, BLS certification, and 2+ years in progressive nursing with preceptor experience.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required or enrolled in Master’s program as start condition.
• RN with BSN must be enrolled in Master's program and meet with Nurse Leader within 3 months.
• 2 years of progressive nursing experience in a designated specialty; 3 months of precepting experience.
• Current BLS certification and Virginia RN licensure or eligibility.

Inova Nursing Professional Development Department is looking for a RN Clinical Educator to work with our Critical Care and Progressive Care (PCU) team supporting RN team members.

This position will have systemwide oversite that includes working with Inova Alexandria Hospital, Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, Inova Fair Oaks, Inova Mount Vernon, and Inova Loudoun Hospital.

Clinical Educator Nursing Job Responsibilities

• Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.

• Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.

Hours: full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master’s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
• Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
• Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
• Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
• Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License

Preferred Qualifications

• Critical Care experience (ICU)
