Job summary

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse for the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at Jefferson Hospital. The CDU is a 10-bed observation unit delivering high-quality care for patients with expected stays under 24 hours.

The nurse will work with physicians, advanced practice providers, RNs, and techs to manage diagnoses such as heart failure, COPD and hypertensive emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum PA RN licensure (or multi-state eNLC)
• CPR certification required
• Background and fingerprinting clearances required

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in professional practice within CDU
• Ensure patient safety and quality of care
• Collaborate with physicians, APRNs, RNs and staff to plan and deliver care
• Assess patient conditions and communicate changes to physicians
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy policies and hospital guidelines
