RN, Clinical Coordinator-Physician Office-Carolina Women's Health

Position Summary

The Clinical Coordinator oversees daily clinical operations and leads clinical staff, focusing on operational and financial efficiencies to deliver outstanding patient care and ensure a safe working environment. The role requires general knowledge of physician practice front office functions, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, medical records, and billing. The coordinator must prioritize and multi-task across duties for multiple physicians, model a patient-focused culture, and develop clinical staff through coaching, development, and empowerment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current RN license from the South Carolina State Board of Nursing
  • 3-5 years of experience as a licensed nurse in OB-GYN ambulatory practice
  • Progressive responsibility in a clinical role within a physician office
  • CPR certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Ability to maintain good rapport with colleagues, physicians, staff, patients, families, and visitors

Experience in a clinical leadership role for at least one year is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead clinical staff to promote physician productivity, safe and efficient patient care, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels, anticipate needs, and manage fluctuations.
  • Utilize resources appropriately and handle patient complaints promptly.
  • Review referral processes for efficiency and ensure patient needs are met.
  • Ensure proper documentation in medical records and compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards.
  • Assist in clinical areas as needed.
  • Guide patient satisfaction and employee engagement surveys; develop responses to concerns.
  • Maintain timely and complete patient charts and documentation per governing bodies' standards.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as directed by management.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain knowledge of safety, infection control, disaster, and hazard communication programs.
Other Functions
  • Follow Bon Secours and St. Francis Health System policies and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and support other departments when needed.
  • Model professional behavior and attitude, especially under stress.
  • Present a professional image for St. Francis Physician Services.
