Overview

Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator. In this role, you will:

  • Actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, including shift charge, department, and/or service line.
  • Ensure that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards.
  • Act as liaison between physicians and the patient care team. Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments. Supervise the staff; authorize work procedures and assign duties.
  • Provide input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring, and performance management of associates.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Be personally accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Day to Day

This will cover Gen, Urology, GYN, and Robotic service lines:

  • Maintain the day-to-day efficiencies of the service line.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs/practices for department associates.
  • Act as leadership within the department.
  • Act as liaison between surgeons and staff.
  • Assist with training staff and evaluating competency.
  • Oversee supplies and instruments necessary for the service line.
  • Create and update preference cards.
  • Assist with staffing.
  • Will also be used on occasion to help out in the rest of the OR.

One year RN experience in operating room required

Previous leadership/charge experience highly preferred

17 OR Suites including 1 trauma room, a hybrid Room, Designated CVOR, and a Cystoscopy Suite—450-500+ procedures/month.

Schedule: 40 hrs/wk—Variable shifts per surgical volume and current unit needs.

Call required approx. 4 shifts in a 6-week schedule block. Typically, no weekend call unless covering team members' PTO.

30-Minute Callback radius required.

This position will also be eligible for the Clinical Ladder.

Qualifications

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Education
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (Nursing Diploma or by endorsement) required
  • BSN, preferred
Licensure
  • RN License to practice in the state of employment as applicable, required
  • Nursing Specialty Certification, preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
Physical Requirements
  • Medium Work - exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly.

St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I trauma center, which allows the Perioperative Department to see a wide range of patient needs and acuity levels. We are unique in the community because we have a designated trauma room that is at the ready 24/7. The trauma room (T-10) allows for triage of patients meeting specific criteria in an operating room, bypassing the ED, with a designated response team for trauma team activation, allowing prompt surgical intervention.

The surgical unit has 17 rooms including trauma, hybrid, CVOR, and Cystoscopy rooms. We have two DaVinci Xi Robotic systems for robotically assisted procedures across multiple specialties. Our caseload in 2019 was 5,859 procedures. We have a specialized cardiac team and cross-trained staff for other specialties, enhancing our knowledge base and coverage capacity.

We offer various shifts and schedule opportunities to support work-life balance. Self-scheduling has been recently implemented.

Pay Range: $37.31-$59.51/hour

Our nurses are the heartbeat of our ministry, providing compassionate care across the Mountain Region. To support them, we are investing $20.4 million to enhance base pay for RNs, RN Clinical Coordinators, and RN Program Coordinators/Managers.
