Duties

As an RN Clinical Coordinator you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. You will not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead serve as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff, authorize work procedures and assign duties, shift charge, as well as:

  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and ensure high-quality care delivery to each patient.
  • Act as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments.
  • Provide input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Act as a professional role model for all staff by demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Actively serve on the unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity.
  • Be personally accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
  • Have at least one year RN experience in operating room required.
  • Previous leadership/charge experience highly preferred.
  • Previous experience as Unit/RN Educator highly preferred.
Day to Day

This will be a Quality, Education, and Development (Operations) position.

  • Maintain the day-to-day efficiencies of the service line.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs/practices for department associates.
  • Act as leadership within the department.
  • Act as liaison between surgeons and staff.
  • Assist with training staff and evaluating competency.
  • Oversee supplies and instruments necessary for the service line.
  • Create and update preference cards.
  • Assist with staffing.
  • Will also be used on occasion to help out in the rest of the OR.

Our OR includes 17 suites, including a trauma room, hybrid room, designated CVOR, and cystoscopy suite. The caseload is approximately 450-500+ procedures per month.

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule: 40 hrs/wk, variable shifts based on surgical volume and unit needs. Call required approximately 4 shifts in a 6-week schedule, typically no weekend call unless covering PTO. 30-minute callback radius required.

Pay Range: $37.31 - $59.51/hour.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • RN License to practice in the state of employment required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a clinical setting, preferably OR.
Physical Requirements
  • Medium Work - exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly.
