The Emergency Department at St. Anthony Hospital, one of our proud Magnet designated hospitals, is a verified American College of Surgeons’ Level I Trauma Center. We are a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center and a cardiac receiving center. We are a high-volume ED treating a variety of medical and cardiac conditions with 46 beds and approximately 58,000 visits per year. We are the home of Flight for Life Colorado and surrounding areas bring around 1,000 patients from medical to trauma. We are a desirable department as we are the Premier Level I ED, Emergency Services Association Lantern Award recipient, providing exemplary care, ANCC equivalent of a Magnet, and we attract the best and brightest as an exemplary model department, recognized on national level of being the top one percent. We look for candidates with strong teamwork capabilities, collaboration, flexibility, and servant leadership, who can foster a warm and caring environment.

Duties

As an RN Clinical Coordinator you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. You will not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead serve as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff, authorize work procedures and assign duties, shift charge, as well as:

  • Demonstrating strong clinical judgment and ensuring high-quality care delivery to each patient.
  • Acting as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintaining communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments.
  • Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Act as a professional role model for all staff by demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing.
  • Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Actively serves on unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity.
  • Being personally, accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Qualifications

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:

  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
  • Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required or within 8 weeks of hire.
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire or within 6 months from hire.
  • ENPC required upon hire or within 6 months from hire.
  • NIHSS required upon hire or within 6 months from hire.
  • TNCC required upon hire or within 6 months from hire.
  • PALS required upon hire or within 6 months from hire.
  • One year RN ED experience required.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's.
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.

Hours: 7pm-7:30am

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
