Position Description:
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Location: 1917 Clinic

The 1917 Clinic is the largest HIV health care unit in Alabama and one of the country’s leading HIV clinics. Its mission is to address the needs of patients, their families and significant others, doctors and scientists, and the community in responding to the urgent and unique issues surrounding HIV/AIDS.

The ID Nurse is responsible for provision and management of patient care in a clinical area for specific age and patient populations. The ID Nurse delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:
Required: BSN Degree from an accredited school of professional nursing. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an RN.
Preferred: The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced ambulatory setting, administration of chemotherapy, and moderate familiarity with information technology such as a desktop computer.

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
Current Alabama RN license required. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment. ACLS and/or PALS certification may be required based upon clinic need. If required, must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Preferred: HIV/AIDS certification.
