MedCadre is seeking an Agency Staff Nurse for an Ambulatory Care Pediatric Clinic. You will provide safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, triage, medications, immunizations, education, and care coordination in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The role requires 2 years of Med/Surg or clinic experience, IV insertion and phlebotomy skills, and a commitment to infection prevention and safety.

Qualifications

  • Pediatric medication administration: know weight-based dosing and safe administration.
  • Immunization administration: vaccinate and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Triage skills: prioritize pediatric patients by symptoms and acuity.
  • Patient and family education: clearly communicate health information to children and caregivers.
  • Clinical judgment: recognize changes and escalate appropriately.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills: build rapport with patients and families and teams.
  • Documentation/EHR proficiency: document assessments, interventions, meds, and education.
  • Infection prevention and safety: follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
  • Emergency response: respond to pediatric emergencies in ambulatory setting.
  • Care coordination: coordinate follow-up care and referrals.
  • Adaptability: function well in busy ambulatory environment.

Job description

. This position is for the Ambualtory Care Pediatric Clinic. The Agency Staff Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, and age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients in the Ambulatory Care Pediatric Clinic. Responsibilities will include patient assessment and triage, medication administration, immunizations, patient and family education, care coordination, documentation, and assisting providers with clinic procedures. The nurse will monitor patients for changes in condition, respond appropriately to urgent needs, maintain infection prevention and safety standards, and support efficient clinic operations. The nurse is also expected to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and adhere to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of pediatric nursing practice.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • -Two (2) years of Med/Surg or clinic experience is required.
  • -IV insertion and phlebotomy skills are required.

  • Infection prevention and safety Knowledge of appropriate infection-control practices and pediatric patient-safety standards.
  • Emergency response Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to pediatric emergencies within the ambulatory setting.
  • Care coordination Ability to coordinate follow-up care, referrals, diagnostic testing, and communication with other healthcare services.
  • Adaptability Ability to function effectively in a busy ambulatory environment and adjust to changing patient volumes and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • -Previous pediatric or ambulatory care nursing experience
  • -Experience working with medically complex pediatric patients
  • -BLS/PALS certification or current pediatric emergency-response competency
  • -Experience with immunization clinics and pediatric preventive care
  • -Familiarity with an electronic health record (EHR) and ambulatory clinic workflows
