PeaceHealth is seeking an RN Clinic for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The salary range is $46.27 – $69.41 per hour, depending on education, training and experience.

The RN will provide professional nursing care in the clinic/outpatient setting, promote a collaborative care approach, document care in health records, and participate in quality improvement and patient education initiatives. Strong communication and interprofessional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited School of Nursing required.
• 1 year preferred: experience as a registered nurse.
• Registered Nurse license in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required.
• Promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Effective prioritization and health education for patients, staff and community.
• Knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV & HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care.
• Knowledge of age-specific growth and development principles.

Responsibilities

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients in the clinic/outpatient setting in compliance with professional practice standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.

Details of the Position

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs. This includes assessing patient’s condition, triaging patient phone calls, counseling patients, providing patient education, taking patient histories, administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds and monitoring patient vital signs.
• Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
• Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
• Participates in the development of and maintains established policies, procedures and objectives.
• Participates in the development and implementation of quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Department / Location Specific Notes

Anticoagulation Services

• Ability to administer point of care testing required.
• Ability to implement, document, and monitor, with health care team, patient anticoagulation management for achievement of desired therapeutic outcomes required.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals, practitioners, patients and families required.
• Experience with warfarin counseling & monitoring preferred.

PHMG

• Demonstrates competence in making professional judgements pertaining to patient care.
• May screen and prioritize patient telephone or walk in inquiries concerning their medical care, prescription refills and insurance authorizations and referrals.
• Evaluates and responds appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.

Working Conditions

Lifting

• Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).

• Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.

• Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).

• Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.

• Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.

• Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.

• Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.

Environmental Conditions

• Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.

• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.

Mental/Visual

• Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).

• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
