Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a RN - Charge Nurse to manage daily operational oversight and ensure high-quality patient care. You will lead staff, coordinate with the health care team, and model exemplary nursing practice in a dynamic OR environment.

The role requires a BSN, two years of RN OR experience, and active SC licensure with BLS; ACLS may be required for certain positions. Shifts include days and weekend coverage with a 36-hour week.

Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Days. Saturday/Sunday 545a-615p. 1 weekday shift 630a-7p. FSO.

$20k sign on bonus for 1 year commitment. Applicants must have 2 years of OR experience (scrub & circulating).

Job Summary/Purpose: Under general supervision, the RN - Charge Nurse manages the daily operational oversight to ensure effective delivery of patient care. Minimum Training and Education

Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of two years of work experience as a registered nurse in an OR or designated area of practice required. Attendance in the Charge Nurse Workshop and successful completion of the MUHA Charge Nurse Competency-Based Orientation is required within 6 months of hire. Successful completion of the RNIII requirements within the first 18 months of hire also required.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
