Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Charge Auditor Clinical RN to coordinate the process of capturing observation and direct care charges, ensuring accurate billing and compliance. The role emphasizes documentation accuracy, timely charge entry, and participation in audits within a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in the state of employment, BLS certification, and at least two years of clinical nursing experience;

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Active RN Licensure in the state of employment.
• BLS certification required.
• 2 years clinical nursing experience.
• Surgical Services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the process of capturing observation charges and other direct care/nursing department charges.
• Review surgical records within one business day of surgery to identify documentation opportunities.
• Ensure timely entering of surgical charges.
• Develop and implement plans for education of nursing and clinical staff on documentation and observation charging.
• Participate in charge audits and reviews (e.g., RAC audits).
• Maintain licensure/certification and required clinical certifications.
