Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in medical and/or surgical nursing.
• Texas licensed as Registered Nurse.
• Ability to interpret and generate written correspondence with proper grammar, spelling, and composition.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Experience with automated systems required.
• Ability to operate office equipment (copy/fax/printers).
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience involving public contact.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces HMHD's values and compliance with laws and standards.
• Performs audits of patient bills for accuracy against medical records on request.
• Complete monthly Audit Results Report and present to Manager/Director/CFO as needed.
• Assist with root cause analysis when errors and trends are noted.
• Provide continuous education to ancillary departments.
• Address and resolve account inquiries within 24 hours.
• Identify high-risk charge capture issues and communicate with management.
• Enter accurate comments on each patient account and maintain patient confidentiality.
