Description:This position involves care for patients in a telemetry setting.The unit accommodates acute cardiac patients, including those post-cath lab procedures.Responsibilities include caring for stroke patients and other overflow patients as needed.Safety and quality are paramount, with specific expectations for documentation compliance and processes related to central lines and infections.Effective teamwork and support from charge nurses are fundamental to the unit's culture.Staffing includes unit techs and secretaries to assist with patient care.Equipment used includes EKGs, bladder scanners, and various patient mobility aids.Documentation is performed using a specific electronic health record system.The schedule requires working every third weekend and a minimum of three shifts per week.Floating to like units may be necessary.The unit emphasizes nurse-patient interactions focused on respect and courtesy.Daily pre-rounds are conducted to connect with patients and ascertain their preferred names and needs.Post-rounds provide opportunities for feedback and recognition based on patient experiences.The unit is certified in multiple specialties, enhancing the overall patient care environment.We are seeking candidates who are passionate about patient care and being an integral part of a collaborative team.The unit prides itself on its engaged staff, including knowledgeable cardiology staff and supportive leadership.
