Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must be a Registered Nurse in MN.
• CPR certified.
• Minimum of two years long-term care experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Medicare, State/Federal regulations, and Case Mix.
• Experience in completing MDS's and the MDS process.
• Strong organization, time management, and delegation skills.
• Professional, courteous and calm demeanor with good English communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the assigned unit to meet State and Federal regulations and facility standards.
• Directs, monitors, and assists unit staff to assure residents experience no preventable decline in function.
• Monitors the quality of resident care and provides direction to improve or maintain quality.
• Serves as a resource person to staff in resident care, clinical practice, regulations, and facility policy.
• Initiates disciplinary action when appropriate and reports to DON/ADON.
• Assists with performance evaluations of staff on the unit.
• Performs physician rounds with residents’ attending physicians and communicates changes to the physician.
