Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare Incorporated in Fredericksburg, TX is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide total, patient-centered care and collaborate with the healthcare team to improve quality of care.

The RN will direct nursing care, coordinate patient education and discharge planning, and participate in performance improvement activities within Mary Washington Hospital and affiliated locations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• RN license from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required at hire.
• Additional certifications will be required according to the assigned unit.
• 2 years of recent RN acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care, including supervision of personnel, using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Coordinate patient, family and health team involvement in care, including teaching and discharge planning.
• Communicate the plan of care to health team members and maintain up-to-date documentation.
• Assist Leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care and participate in improvement efforts.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and serve as a point of contact for policies and procedures.
• Contribute to routine unit operations and participate in hospital committees.
