Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking an Acute Care RN for a full-time position on a cardiac telemetry unit (7S). The role includes caring for patients with varying acuity, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting patients and families.

New graduates may begin VAD training after six months; experienced nurses will receive VAD training after orientation. Sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and relocation bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license required.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required for units with telemetry monitoring.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills.

7S is a cardiac telemetry unit specializing in heart failure management. Nurses on the unit are trained to care for patients with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs), gaining valuable experience in advanced cardiac therapies. New graduate nurses can expect to begin VAD training after six months on the unit, while experienced nurses will receive VAD training after orientation
