Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center seeks an Acute Care RN for the 7 North (7N) cardiac telemetry unit. You will provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular procedures, on an on-site, full-time schedule.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing with an Iowa RN license, BLS, and ACLS for telemetry units; favorable patient outcomes and interdisciplinary collaboration are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Current Iowa RN license required.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required for units with telemetry monitoring.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN CARDIAC CARE 7 North (7N) is a specialized cardiac telemetry unit caring for patients recovering from cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including CABG and TAVR procedures. Patients typically transition to 7N after stabilizing in critical care. Our nurses care for patients with complex cardiac conditions, including those with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs), chest tubes, central lines, and temporary pacemakers.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Acute Care RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients with varying levels of acuity. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; coordinating with the interdisciplinary team; and supporting patients and families throughout their care journey.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred Current Iowa RN license required American Heart Association BLS required ACLS required for units with telemetry monitoring Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire Basic computer skills
