MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking an Acute Care RN to provide safe and compassionate patient care on a cardiac telemetry unit. Training for VAD is provided for new graduates after six months, with experienced staff receiving training after orientation.

The role requires an Iowa RN license, ADN with BSN preferred, and BLS/ACLS per unit needs. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available; excellent benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license required; American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required for units with telemetry monitoring; Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months.

7S is a cardiac telemetry unit specializing in heart failure management. Nurses on the unit are trained to care for patients with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs), gaining valuable experience in advanced cardiac therapies. New graduate nurses can expect to begin VAD training after six months on the unit, while experienced nurses will receive VAD training after orientation

POSITION PURPOSE

The Acute Care RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients with varying levels of acuity. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; coordinating with the interdisciplinary team; and supporting patients and families throughout their care journey.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree in Nursing required;


• BSN preferred Current Iowa RN license required American Heart Association BLS required ACLS required for units with telemetry monitoring Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire Basic computer skills
