Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in the St. Louis area is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Stepdown unit on the night shift.

This full-time position offers a sign-on bonus for experienced nurses up to $10,000 and up to $5,000 for new graduates. Qualified candidates will have an accredited nursing education (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) and Missouri or compact RN licensure, with BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: ADN, Nursing Diploma, or BSN.
• Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or a compact license.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments and maintains patient rights and confidentiality.

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule:Nights | Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Sign-On Bonus:

• Experienced Nurses:Up to$10,000

• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience):Up to$5,000

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing

• Nursing Diploma

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education:BSN preferred

• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred

• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift

• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
