Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Nurse (MRI/CT) to join the multidisciplinary team at the Parnassus and UCIC campuses. The role focuses on cardiac stress testing, MRI and CT procedures, and monitoring patients with cardiac devices.

You will collaborate with APPs, physicians, technologists, and nurses to deliver patient-centered care. Responsibilities include conducting cardiovascular stress tests, ensuring informed consent, and providing education to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Five years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Two years in ICU/ER/CCU or heart transplant units.
• Two years of experience in Cardiology or Radiology performing cardiac stress testing.
• Experience with MRI pacemaker interrogation and radiology procedures.
• California RN license with BLS/ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic patient care in radiology cardiac stress testing, MRI, and CT, including chemical and exercise stress testing and monitoring.
• Independently perform cardiovascular stress tests and tilt table evaluations under physician or nurse practitioner supervision.
• Build an in-depth database by assessing psychosocial and physical status of patients presenting for tests.
• Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacologic agents used during procedures and manage adverse reactions.
• Conduct in-depth cardiovascular and sedation assessments, ensuring informed consent and patient/family education.
• Demonstrate pacemaker functionality knowledge and troubleshoot with appropriate parties.
• Deliver safe, competent care while maintaining policy compliance and patient flow across the medical center.
• Assist with monitoring and management of patients with implanted devices during MRI.
