Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking an experienced RN to provide comprehensive cardiac care in our Winfield/Naperville clinics. You will evaluate implanted devices, perform ECG tracings, interpret rhythms, and educate patients on device management and follow-up. Travel to affiliated sites may be required.

Responsibilities include coordinating remote follow-ups, assisting with AV optimization, wound assessment post-OP, and collaborating with EP physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • RN required; ASN or BSN degree.
  • Minimum 3+ years cardiovascular experience.
  • Knowledge of cardiac devices and pacing options.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive cardiac care in clinics.
  • Perform device evaluations and data interpretation.
  • Record patient information and device testing results.
  • Educate patients and families on device care and follow-up.

Address inappropriate detection, therapy or therapy failure with EP physician in timely fashionExecute comprehensive cardiac care for patients with clinical cardiac devises and other specialized cardiac needs via phoneTelephonically assess, interpret and evaluate pacemakers' functions, assess patient questions and concerns and refer as appropriateTriage ICD, pacemaker and EP telephone callsPerform and coordinate remote follow-up visits (Latitude, Carelink, Merlin, and Biotronik)Manage office responsibilities which include documentation, records, and testing device maintenanceMaintain records related to device advisory, recalls, and alertsCoordinate remote follow-up visitsMaintenance of device testing equipment and continual review of updatesClearly document evaluation outcome of visit, including summary of device testingMaintain records related to device advisory/recalls/alerts. Assist MD with new advisory information, identifies patient population included and communicate with patients regarding the advisory informationCommunicate effectively with patient/family regarding their device system and plan of care for the short and long-term follow up of their device.QualificationsGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing; RN with ASN or BSNMinimum of 3+ years of cardiovascular experience requiredBLS; ACLS a plusProfessional certification in device management a plus (Certified Cardiac Device Specialist) issued by IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners)Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart, cardiac electrophysiology and rhythm interpretationKnowledge of modes of pacing, ICD arrhythmia detection parameters and therapy optionsStrong EKG/arrhythmia interpretation skills; effective communication skills, database management, and problem solving skills requiredIndications for implantation of pacemakers, bi-ventricular devices and defibrillatorsStrong knowledge of cardiac medicationsBasic computer skills: EMR required, Epic and Paceart systems preferredInterrogation and programming of Pacemakers, AICDs, and linqs with numerous different platforms utilizing 3-5 different manufacturers' programmers and navigating their respective websitesAbility to multi-task, to think critically, and to analyze and interpret extensive dataAbility to assess post-op wounds and provide clear post-op education re: wound care, activity restrictions and device functionProvide compassionate care to patients and family members dealing with serious/potentially life- threatening medical issues and sometimes traumatic emotional events.The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $38.10-57.17 with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
