Job summary

Medical City Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks RNs for Seasonal Night Shifts focusing on Stem Cell Transplant and hematologic patients. Requires BSN within 24 months of hire, TX RN license, and oncology/critical care background with relevant certifications.

Position is seasonal with 72 hours per pay period and no guaranteed hours; benefits and career development opportunities available within the HCA network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Experience as Oncology RN with Level 2 competencies or prior Critical Care preferred.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
• Oncology Certified Nurse or Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse preferred.
• ACLS and BLS required by specified dates.
• Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the RN scope for Stem Cell Transplant and hematologic patients.
• Perform nursing processes with emphasis on patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

Contract runs 9/20/2026-4/3/2027

Rate: $62/HR

Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for the Stem Cell Transplant and hematologic disorders patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Experienced Oncology RN with Level 2 Competencies or prior Critical Care experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
• Experienced as an Oncology Certified Nurse or Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse is preferred
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS Provide American Heart Association required
• Effective 10/01/23, American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS required within six months of hire or transfer
• Effective 10/01/23, ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire or transfer

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

• All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
• Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
• Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
• During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
• Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
• Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)
• Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
• Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27
• Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
• Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
