Job summary

Medical City Dallas, a flagship facility of Medical City Healthcare, seeks a Seasonal Registered Nurse for night shifts. The RN will deliver oncology and medical/surgical care, coordinate care plans, and document thoroughly in collaboration with the care team.

Requirements include an accredited nursing program graduate, Texas RN license (or compact), BSN within 24 months, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and ongoing professional certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
• Current American Heart Association or ARC BLS provider.
• ACLS provider within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course within 60 days of hire or transfer.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Utilizing the standards set forth for nursing practice by the ANA and ONS, the RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for oncology and medical/surgical patients. It will include individualized, family-centered, holistic, supportive, and safe care.

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
• Current American Heart Association or ARC BLS provider.
• Effective 1/1/24, current American Heart Association or ARC ACLS provider within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire or transfer
• Strong communication skills in both oral and written format.
• Flexibility to intervene on a moment’s notice.
• Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance from team members when necessary.
• Ability to cope with death and dying.

Program Requirements

• All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
• Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
• Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
• During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
• Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
• Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)
• Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
• Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27
• Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
• Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
