Job Summary and Qualifications

• Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, emphasizing outcomes for oncology patients with blood cancer and disorders.
• Assess the health status and needs of patients and families through interpretation of health data and preventive practices in collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments regarding patient health status.
• Formulate nursing care plans based on diagnoses and problems identified.
• Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice, complying with applicable laws.
• Develop and implement patient teaching plans for health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required).
• Registered Nurse license.
• ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate (must be obtained within 60 days of employment).
• Bachelor's Degree (required within 24 months of hire).
• Recent/Current acute care experience in a hospital setting.
• Previous experience in oncology, BMT, critical care, ICU, or PCU.
