Job summary

Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, OH, is seeking a compassionate nurse to provide direct and indirect care to mothers, babies, and families, using the nursing process from assessment to evaluation.

The role requires critical thinking, safe age-specific care, effective delegation, and collaboration with the healthcare team; current OH license and BLS CPR required, ACLS/NRP/PALS within 1 year preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current Ohio RN licensure in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
• Specialty certification preferred; ACLS, NRP and PALS required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Delivers direct/indirect patient care to moms and babies utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment; implementation and prioritization of patient’s problems and needs; and development/implementation/evaluation of a nursing plan of care.
• Demonstrates critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe, quality, age specific care.
• Delegates effectively to appropriate team members. Documents accurately and in a timely manner. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members.
• Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards

Requirements Include

• Graduate of an accredited program for nursing education, BSN preferred.
• Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
• Certification in specialty is preferred; other as noted below for specific units as indicated within 1 year of hire:
