Job summary

Renew Recovery Center is seeking an experienced RN/LVN to join our multidisciplinary team in a clinical nursing role focused on recovery-based services. Under nursing leadership, you will support patient care, safety, and continuity of treatment within a structured facility environment.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor detox symptoms, administer medications, and contribute to individualized treatment plans while adhering to HIPAA and infection-control protocols.

Qualifications

• Current RN or LVN license issued by the State of California.
• At least 3 years of nursing experience; 2 years in SUD or behavioral health preferred.
• Active CPR (BLS) and First Aid certification.
• Completion of in-service trainings and annual competency assessments.
• Knowledge of detox protocols, dual diagnosis, withdrawal management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective patient care per policies and protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments (medical and behavioral).
• Monitor and respond to detox symptoms and signs of intoxication.
• Administer medications using two patient identifiers; document effects.
• Develop treatment plans with the treatment team.
• Communicate with patients, families, and staff for care coordination.
• Lead psychoeducational groups and patient-centered activities as assigned.
• Take and transcribe physician orders; verify as needed.
• Deliver discharge planning and patient education with proper documentation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and infection control standards.
• Document nursing interventions and outcomes accurately.
• Report changes in patient condition to appropriate personnel.
• Use clinical judgment in crisis or emergencies.
• Demonstrate competency in nursing procedures with or without supervision.
• Ensure contraband control and unit safety.
• Provide thorough hand-off reports to next shift/leadership.
• Assist with admissions, orientation, and initial assessments.
• Identify suspected co-occurring mental health concerns.
