Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse Bed Coordinator to prioritize, triage, and coordinate patient flow, including transfers and bed placement across the network.

The role involves serving as the initial contact for transfer requests and coordinating care with the accepting physician. Ideal candidates are BSN-preferred RNs with PA licensure or reciprocity, and have experience in critical care, triage, or care management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse license to practice in Pennsylvania or eligible for licensure.
• Critical Care, triage or pre-hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls in a timely fashion with excellent customer service.
• Coordinate patient transfers and bed placement using Epic.
• Assess medical history and treatment plan for appropriate transfer decisions.
• Review insurance for transfer authorization as needed.
• Facilitate case management referrals when appropriate.
• Coordinate OR bed placement with PACU/ASC to minimize OR disruption.
