Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Colorado Springs is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care within a collaborative healthcare team, coordinating with physicians, therapists, and support staff to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, ensure safety, document thoroughly, and uphold state and institutional standards.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement.
• RN License in state of employment.
• Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• One (1) year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
• Maintain patient charts and records; document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in a timely manner.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
• Provide patient/family education through assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability; provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness.
