Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Colorado Springs seeks a Registered Nurse to collaborate with the healthcare team and patient/family, advancing compassionate, high-quality care across physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will promote safety and apply the nursing process in a mission-driven environment.

As an RN, you will assess, plan, implement, and document care with the interdisciplinary team, provide patient education, and advocate for patient rights.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
• RN License in state of employment
• Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
• Maintain patient charts and records; document status, interventions, patient response and outcomes; use IT to communicate and support decision-making.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect health, safety and rights of each patient.
• Provide patient/family education through assessment of learning readiness and needs; provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
