Christiana Care Health System is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) for the 6B Medical Telemetry Unit in Newark, DE. This full-time role requires leadership across day, evening, and night shifts with weekend/holiday coverage per department guidelines.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, participating in hiring decisions, and advancing clinical practice and professional development. Qualifications include a BSN, an advanced degree, BLS certification and 5 years of leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare or business management required or enrolled within 5 years of promotion.
• If no BSN, Master’s degree in nursing required.
• BLS Certification and professional certification in related nursing specialty.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical and leadership experience in area.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for nursing practice and delivery of high-quality care.
• Share 24-hour responsibility and accountability for daily operational activity.
• Directly supervise nursing and technical personnel: assess staff proficiency, oversee staffing and scheduling, evaluate performance, counsel staff on performance issues.
• Participate in hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions.
• Mentor and support staff, drive professional development, and align with department goals.
• Identify strategies to improve knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
• Analyze administrative and operational functions and implement improvements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Master’s Degree in nursing, healthcare or business management

If no BSN, Master’s degree in nursing

BLS Certification

Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
