Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse Assistant Manager for the GI Lab in Saint Louis, Missouri. This leadership role oversees patient care, staff development, and departmental operations within the Endoscopy unit.

The Assistant Manager coordinates scheduling, performance evaluations, and budget considerations while ensuring compliance with policy and quality standards. Prior leadership and RN experience in GI or similar setting are preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or associate's degree required.
• 2–5 years of nursing experience.
• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, assigns work and evaluates performance.
• Ensures staff productivity aligns with department goals.
• Participates in staffing, revenue and/or expense budget development.
• Delivers patient care according to planned interventions and documents per policy.
• Creates and implements a collaborative plan of care based on assessment and treatment.
• Oversees payroll updates, time cards and scheduling; supports overtime decisions.
• Prepares and leads staff communications, huddles and meetings; adjusts staffing as needed.
• Conducts performance reviews and coaching; follows up on disciplinary actions.
