Royal Westerly LLC in Westerly, RI is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead nursing care across long‑term and memory care units, delivering resident‑centered care with strong clinical judgment and teamwork.

You will supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, participate in case management, and collaborate with physicians. This role offers a $5,000 sign‑on bonus, weekly pay, and benefits starting on day one under our Work Today, Get Paid Today program.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of nursing leadership in long-term care.
• Experience with geriatric psychiatry population is desirable.
• Knowledge of state and federal nursing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, supervise and evaluate nursing care for clinical and financial outcomes.
• Provide professional guidance to non‑professional staff.
• Ensure assignments match staff competencies and patient needs.
• Schedule and monitor nursing care and staffing levels.
• Support patients and families to maintain a positive work environment.
• Report to the Director of Nursing promptly and accurately.
• Communicate significant changes to physicians and families.
• Educate residents and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant resident records and documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans, organizes, directs, supervises and evaluates nursing care provided to achieve clinical and financial outcomes.


• Provides professional guidance and supervision to non‑professional staff.


• Ensures patient care assignments are consistent with staff competencies, scope of practice and the needs of the patients.


• Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; follows up on work results


• Establishes a positive work environment by providing support to patients and families


• Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests


• Ensures complete and prompt reporting to the Director of Nursing


• Ensures that significant changes in residents' conditions are communicated to the physician and family or responsible party


• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred


• 2-4 years of experience in nurse leadership in a long‑term care setting


• Knowledge of state and federal regulations


• Experience with geriatric psychiatric population


• Assess resident health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans.


• Supervises the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.


• Monitor resident progress and respond to changes in condition.


• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.


• Educate residents and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge.


• Maintain accurate resident records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.


• Participate in case management activities to ensure continuity of care.


• Provide support in specialized areas such as PT, OT, SUD, Pain Management, etc.

SKILLS

• Experienced ADON


• Registered or Licensed Nurse in the state


• 5 years or more of nursing experience


• Leadership experience


• Medication administration


• EMR: PCC (Point Click Care)


• Proficiency in memory care techniques and protocols.


• Knowledge of MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments for long‑term care facilities.


• Familiarity with operations in Skilled Nursing, Sub‑Acute, and Dementia Units.


• Strong background in case management practices.


• Ability to work effectively in a medical office environment.


• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.


• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
