Job summary

River Grove Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to mentor our nursing team and uphold compassionate, high-quality care for residents. The ADON will partner with the Director of Nursing to lead daily clinical operations.

Candidates should be an RN with LTC leadership experience, strong communication, and a track record of staff education and supervision. This is a full-time on-site role in Kentucky with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in long-term care.
  • 2 years of management experience preferred.
  • 1 year of staff education experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and mentor team members.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinical operations to meet residents' nursing and medical needs with safe, high-quality care.
  • Coordinate Infection Control program, monitor trends, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide staff education and in-services to improve clinical skills and policy adherence.
  • Support regulatory compliance and quality assurance across nursing practices.
  • Direct planning and delivery of nursing services with cross-department collaboration.
  • Apply nursing theory and evidence-based practices in leadership decisions.
  • Oversee documentation and medical record management for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new nursing staff.
  • Manage daily staffing levels and adjust for appropriate coverage and workload balance.
  • Foster a positive, flexible work environment responsive to residents' and staff needs.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to identify improvements and growth opportunities.
  • Uphold accountability, compassion, and professional development within the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure residents’ nursing and medical needs are consistently met by overseeing daily clinical operations and supporting the nursing team in delivering safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.
  • Coordinate and manage the Infection Control Program, including monitoring infection trends, implementing prevention measures, conducting staff education, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide ongoing staff education and training, developing and delivering in-services to enhance clinical skills, ensure compliance with facility policies, and promote best practices in resident care.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and quality assurance, ensuring all nursing practices align with state, federal, and facility guidelines while fostering accountability and teamwork among staff.
  • Coordinate and direct the planning and delivery of nursing services, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration between departments to achieve the highest standards of resident outcomes.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice, applying sound clinical judgment and evidence-based care in all aspects of nursing leadership.
  • Oversee documentation and medical record management, ensuring all resident assessments, treatments, and care plans are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new nursing staff, ensuring new team members receive thorough orientation and are supported for success.
  • Manage and monitor daily staffing levels, making adjustments as needed to ensure appropriate coverage, balance workloads, and maintain quality resident care.
  • Foster a positive and flexible work environment, maintaining adaptability in your schedule to meet the evolving needs of residents, staff, and the facility.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing to identify areas for improvement, support team development, and promote a culture of compassion, accountability, and professional growth.
Qualifications:
  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Long-Term Care.
