We are seeking a passionate and energetic RN Educator who is ready to make a lasting impact by developing our staff, shaping first impressions, and helping create a workplace where people feel supported, confident, and inspired from day one.

As our RN Educator, you will be the heart of staff development at Midtown Center. You’ll play a key role in welcoming new hires, leading orientation, delivering engaging in-services, and ensuring our team feels prepared, empowered, and appreciated. You’ll also partner with leadership to support recruitment efforts and bring fun, meaningful employee engagement activities to life.

Join a workplace that not only values your skill but also your spirit — where every day brings new opportunities to lead, teach, and inspire those around you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the new hire orientation process, ensuring each employee receives a welcoming, organized, and engaging introduction to River Grove, its culture, policies, and expectations. Serve as the primary first point of contact and positive first impression for all new team members.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver comprehensive clinical education programs and in-service training for nursing and support staff, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations while promoting best practices in resident care.
  • Assess ongoing educational needs of staff through observation, performance trends, and regulatory requirements, and proactively design training initiatives that support competency, confidence, and professional growth.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of education, training, competencies, and attendance to support survey readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with nursing leadership, department heads, and clinical leaders to ensure education aligns with facility goals, quality outcomes, and resident-centered care initiatives.
  • Assist with recruitment and hiring efforts, including participating in interviews, onboarding processes, and representing the center in a professional and engaging manner to prospective candidates.
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives by planning and participating in morale-building activities such as staff recognition events, glow parties, staff bingo, celebrations, and appreciation programs.
  • Promote and model exceptional customer service standards, professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication across all departments.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to staff, providing guidance, coaching, and ongoing support to encourage accountability, growth, and confidence in their roles.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives by identifying trends, recommending education-based solutions, and supporting continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical standards, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure staff education remains relevant, effective, and evidence-based.
Qualifications

  • Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
