Job summary

Lotus Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing and Staff Development Coordinator (ADON/SDC) to support the Director of Nursing, oversee clinical operations, and lead education programs. This role focuses on staff competency, regulatory compliance, and a positive workplace culture.

The ADON/SDC will mentor nursing staff, implement training initiatives, monitor documentation, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to continually improve

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years of nursing leadership, supervisory, education, or staff development experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, clinical standards, and long-term care regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services.
• Help ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centered care.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff.
• Monitor nursing practices and support compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
• Coordinate and participate in quality and process improvement initiatives.
• Develop and implement comprehensive orientation, onboarding, in-service education, and ongoing staff development programs.
