Job summary

River Grove Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to guide the nursing team in delivering high-quality care to residents. The ideal candidate will mentor staff, oversee clinical operations, and uphold infection control and regulatory standards.

Applicants should have an active RN license, at least 2 years in long-term care, and prior management or staff-education experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Long-Term Care.
• 2 years of management experience preferred.
• 1 year of staff education experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and mentor team members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical operations and support nursing team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
• Coordinate Infection Control program, monitor trends, educate staff, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide ongoing staff education and training to enhance skills and policy adherence.
• Assist with regulatory compliance and QA to ensure practices meet guidelines.
• Direct planning and delivery of nursing services and cross-department collaboration.
• Apply nursing theory and evidence-based care with sound clinical judgment.
• Oversee documentation and medical record management for accuracy and timeliness.
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of nursing staff.
• Manage daily staffing levels to balance workloads and maintain care quality.
• Foster a positive, flexible work environment responsive to resident and staff needs.
• Collaborate with Director of Nursing to identify improvements and promote growth.
