Job summary

Heritage Specialty Care, a 171-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Cedar Rapids, IA, is now hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON - RN) to provide compassionate leadership and quality resident care.

You will assist the DON, conduct rounds, coach RNs, enforce policies, and oversee administrative tasks to keep the department efficient.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, organizing, and directing the nursing department.
• Conduct regular rounds to monitor care delivery and address concerns.
• Enforce policies and guide the team for growth.
• Coach RNs to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
• Manage administrative functions to improve department efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
• Document care accurately to meet clinical and regulatory standards.
• Follow infection control, safety, and compliance protocols.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with the leadership team.
