Job summary

Mechanicsville Specialty Care, a 39-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Mechanicsville, IA, is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) RN to lead the nursing department and ensure compassionate, compliant resident care.

You will collaborate with the DON, supervise RNs, promote teamwork, coach staff, and uphold infection control and regulatory standards while participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa, or ability to activate
• Current CPR Certification
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations and laws
• Desire to learn and grow as part of a quality focused clinical team
• Strong commitment to helping others with empathy, respect and discretion

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, organizing, and directing the nursing department to gain experience and advancement
• Conduct regular rounds to monitor care delivery and propose/implement solutions
• Enforce policies and guide the team to foster growth
• Support and coach RNs to promote teamwork and high-quality care
• Manage administrative functions to improve department efficiency
• Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs
• Document care to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards
• Follow infection control, safety, and compliance protocols
• Participate in an on-call rotation with leadership team
