Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville, TN is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Acute Surgical Care Stepdown unit (10N). The role focuses on applying the nursing process, coordinating care, and educating patients and families as they prepare for surgery or recovery.

You will work three 12-hour day shifts (7a–7p), totaling 36 hours per week, with weekend requirements and occasional two call shifts in a six-week cycle.

Qualifications

• Applies the nursing process to plan and implement patient care.
• Collaborates with the health care team to achieve outcomes.
• Provides patient and family education and coordinates continuum of care planning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
• Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions.
