Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking an RN to join the 4200 Unit. You will provide direct nursing care for a diverse, high-acuity patient population, including post-surgical and cardiovascular cases.

This full-time night-shift role offers hands-on collaboration in a supportive healthcare environment. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care planning, documentation, and acting as a patient advocate while pursuing ongoing education and specialty certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ ADN/ BSN).
• Current RN license in the state of Ohio.
• BLS required; ACLS required within first year.
• Experience in a complex medical environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care, and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medications, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks and serve as a resource person.
• Pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications.
• Maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience:

• Experience in a complex medical environment preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire or within the first year of hire.
