Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Operating Room team in Akron, OH. This full-time, day shift role provides direct patient care and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent surgical outcomes.

The RN will assess and plan care, document treatments, mentor staff, and participate in ongoing patient/family education and evaluation. BSN preferred; ADN/BSN required; BLS and active RN license required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) is required.
• BSN degree preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and adjust plans.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct nursing care to patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Develop and update goals, involving patients and families in care plans.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medications, and document accordingly.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Delegate tasks and serve as a resource person/mentor.
• Plan for patient care utilizing patient-specific information and preference sheets.
• Assist in collecting and preparing equipment, instruments, sutures, and implants.
• Ensure surgical specimens are handled correctly by accurate identification.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Experience:

• Experience in a clinical setting preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Successfully complete mandatory clinical competencies annually
