Job summary

CHI Mercy Health Valley City, part of CommonSpirit Health, invites a Registered Nurse to join our compassionate team. You will deliver individualized, high-quality care, perform skilled procedures, and develop patient care plans within an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes.

Ideal candidates include graduation from an accredited nursing program, North Dakota RN license, and BLS certification; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school or college of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse licensed in North Dakota (ND).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
  • BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify patient care requirements by establishing rapport and initiating plan of care.
  • Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
  • Promote patient independence by teaching care goals and self-care skills.
  • Adhere to therapeutic standards and evaluate health outcomes, adjusting as needed.
  • Resolve patient problems through multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Follow infection control policies and medication procedures.

What you'll do...
  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements; initiates plan of care
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
  • Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations

Job Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school or college of nursing
  • Registered Nurse Licensed by the state of North Dakota (ND)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
