Job summary

CHI Mercy Health Valley City is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care that meaningfully impacts patient well-being and recovery. You will perform assessments, plan and implement care, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

The role requires acute critical thinking, a patient-first mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. ND RN license and BLS are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school or college of nursing.
• Registered Nurse Licensed by the state of North Dakota (ND).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Preferred: Bachelors of Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and others to understand needs; initiate plan of care.
• Provides emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends.
• Promotes patient independence by teaching patients and families to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills.
• Adheres to therapeutic standards; measures health outcomes against goals and standards; adjusts care as needed.
• Resolves patient problems by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
• Follows infection control policies and medication administration/storage procedures.
• Participates in a sign-on incentive program for eligible new hires.

What You'll Do...

• Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements; initiates plan of care


• Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families


• Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions


• Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations


• Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies


• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
