RWJBarnabas Health seeks an RN for per diem day shift in the Intensive Care Unit at RWJ Hamilton. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care and participates in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure smooth transitions of care.

Qualified candidates hold an active NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and have 1–2 years of Acute Care ICU experience. BSN preferred; per diem Monday–Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing and BLS certification required.
• ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN strongly preferred; 1–2 years ICU experience.
• Experience with EPIC EMR and the ability to document thoroughly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and detect clinical changes early.
• Administer evidence-based medications and care with strong clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to coordinate timely care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly to support next steps after discharge.

The Registered Nurse is expected to work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care on the Intensive Care Unit. As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification, ACLS and PALS. ASN or Nursing diploma required. If candidate possesses ASN or Nursing diploma, must agree to complete BSN within five years of hire date. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. 1-2 years experience on an Acute Care ICU unit required.

This position offers per diem day shift with required rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as well as rotating holidays, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
