RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an RN for the Intensive Care Unit at RWJUH Hamilton Hospital. This per diem Day shift role entails delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity environment.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality outcomes and patient-centered experiences in our renowned health system. The ideal candidate holds an NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 1–2 years ICU experience, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification, ACLS and PALS.
• ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in Acute Care ICU.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes to intervene early.
• Administer medications, treatments, and provide hands-on nursing care.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to coordinate timely care decisions.
• Provide clear education to patients and families to support informed decisions.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification, ACLS and PALS. ASN or Nursing diploma required. If candidate possesses ASN or Nursing diploma, must agree to complete BSN within five years of hire date. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. 1-2 years experience on an Acute Care ICU unit required.

This position offers per diem day shift with required rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as well as rotating holidays, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
