Job summary

Essex Meadows, a premier senior living community in Essex, Connecticut, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support compassionate resident care. This role offers 3-11 PM (Evenings) with a $3 shift differential and daytime options, plus per diem opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in good standing and CPR certification.
• Experience in nursing or patient care; long-term care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee resident care and nursing staff on shift.
• Administer direct care and prescribed medications.
• Make rounds to ensure safe and clean environment.
• Keep physicians and families informed of changes in residents' condition.
• Assist in developing comprehensive care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all care rendered.
• Respond to resident emergency call system and on-call duties as assigned.
• Encourage restorative care to promote maximum resident independence.

Pay: $40-$44/hr, plus shift differential when applicable

Shift Openings Within Skilled Nursing

• 3-11 PM (Evenings), 32-hours per week with a $3 shift differential
• 7 AM - 3 PM (Days)

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift.
• Administers direct care as necessary.
• Administer prescribed medications to patients.
• Make rounds to ensure proper care is rendered in a safe and clean environment.
• Keeps physicians and families aware of changes in residents' condition.
• Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.
• Maintains accurate documentation of all care rendered.
• Responds to resident emergency call system.
• Encourages restorative care in order to obtain maximum resident independence.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Assures proper functioning of equipment and adequate supplies.
• Shares on-call duties with designated staff.

Qualifications

• Valid state, multi-state or compact RN license in good standing. Must have current CPR certification.
• Previous experience in nursing, patient care, or other related fields.
• Experience in a long-term care setting a plus.
• Ability to build rapport with patients.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor.
